Portrait Trade Project
PORTRAIT PROJECT
I have been working on a portrait trade project for a few years. I tend to work with performers, folks that like costuming, or folks I generally admire.
MY PROCESS
As I don’t sell my work it’s hard to pay folks for modeling (which they greatly deserve) The way I work is I find people of interest and see if they want portraits or have any need for promotional material. The model or subject then gets to choose location, concept, dress, etc. This way both parties find something of value.
This then allows the subject to be the artist and my way of collaborating is my eye. I mostly follow the lead of the model/subject, but happy to direct if needed.
I look for people with a shared sense of style, aesthetic, or interests.

If not I generally charge $50-100 depending on proof of finances. I also offer pro bono work for nonprofits or D.I.Y/independent projects or business. See that page if you have a project in mind.
